چکیده

Background In psoriatic arthritis (PsA), nail disease is intimately linked to the presence of DIP joint enthesitis and arthritis. Nail disease has been shown in clinical trials to respond to treatment with TNF inhibitors. We used high resolution MRI to assess whether improvements in psoriasis-related nail disease correlated to improvements in associated DIP joint enthesitis, osteitis and synovitis during TNF inhibitor therapy.

MRI of psoriatic nail disease pre- and post-TNF inhibitor therapy shows persistent subclinical inflammation after 6 months despite good clinical response

Nail involvement is part of the clinical spectrum of psoriatic disease and is microanatomically associated with distal interphalangeal joint (DIPJ) entheses. Tumour necrosis factor (TNF) inhibitors have shown efficacy for psoriasis, arthritis, enthesitis, dactylitis and nail disease. Given the intimate links between psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and nail disease, it might be expected that nail dise...

Speckled variance optical coherence tomography for the assessment of nail involvement in acrodermatitis continua of Hallopeau: A case study

Noninvasive techniques for nail imaging would be useful for confirming diagnosis and monitoring treatment response at the microscopic level in patients with nail psoriasis. However, the use of ultrasound and high-resolution magnetic resonance imaging in nail evaluation is limited. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) produces high-resolution images of transversal tissue sections and represents an...

Expanding the armamentarium for the spondyloarthropathies

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a member of the family of spondyloarthropathies, which are inflammatory arthritides largely involving the axial skeleton and commonly accompanied by peripheral arthritis. Genetic factors, particularly the presence of HLA-B27, are major contributors to the susceptibility for AS. Despite some therapeutic advances, the treatment options for patients with AS and relat...
